The plural -j
Add -j to nouns and to the adjectives that follow them.
libro → libroj, bela → belaj, bela fraŭlino → belaj fraŭlinoj. The article stays la. Object plural stacks both marks: Mi vidas belajn fraŭlinojn. Cardinal numbers do not take -j: du belaj libroj.

- La lernantoj. Ili estas junaj kaj atentaj. The students. They are young and attentive.
- Ĉu vi vidas la librojn? Do you see the books?
- Jes, mi vidas du novajn librojn sur la tablo. Yes, I see two new books on the table.
Numbers stay still
du, tri, dek never take -j or -n. The noun after them does: du libroj, mi havas du librojn.
