Lesson 24 / 24
Word order and a natural voice
Move a word for emphasis, use ja and ĉi, and speak in whole thoughts.
Because -n marks the object, you may put the important word first: Libron mi legas (it’s a book that I’m reading). ja adds “indeed / you know”: Vi ja scias. ĉi marks nearness: ĉi tiu, tiu ĉi (this here). mem is “self”: mi mem. The course ends where it began: read aloud, reuse the pieces, and do not translate in your head first. You already have the sixteen rules, the table words, and the affixes. Keep speaking.
A book, not a paper
Read the story. Click a word to see what it means.
Libron volas , . scias, legas ĉiutage.
tiu seĝo . Sidu. parolu Esperanton, nur .
iros kurso. , iros . .
via mano: -o, -a, -i, -n, mal-, -ej-. Konstruu. Parolu.
Read this aloud
- Libron mi volas, ne gazeton. It’s a book I want, not a newspaper.
- Vi ja scias, ke mi legas ĉiutage. You do know that I read every day.
- Ĉu ĉi tiu seĝo estas libera? Is this chair (here) free?
- Jes. Sidu. Ni parolu Esperanton. Yes. Sit. Let’s speak Esperanto.
Emphasis is not a new grammar
You still need -n on the object even if it comes first. Libron mi volas is correct; Libro mi volas is not. The ending, not the seat in the sentence, carries the role.

Week 2 checklist
You finished the 24 lessons. Use this week to speak: one phrase a day, ten pages of a reader, and a real host or chat — not another pass through the rules.
One phrase a day
Saluton, Dankon, Bonvolu — read one aloud each morning until it feels natural.
Read ten pages
Start with Gerda malaperis! or a graded reader. Do not look up every word — guess from endings.
